About Me
In the current age of AI agents, I feel this should start with "I am a human", born and living in Colombia. With 15 years of experience in governmental mismanagement in Venezuela where I lived the child and teenage years and then came back to study economics and make a professional career in Colombia.
I am a self taught technologist and, to some degree (pun), economist. Have been doing Hardware Builds (computing), Data Engineering, Software Architecture for well over a decade now thanks to a sudden realization in the mid of my economics degree where I found that programming in python facilitated the absurd modeling and theory validating that were built 20+ years before me acquiring the knowledge. The amount of data that was possible to ingest, cross, correlate, interject, etc... was too much for an excel sheet to handle. Fast forward to today, I feel pretty confident in how to build complete, secure, reliable, performant, up-to-date solutions, like automating the lottery tickets purchase or public services bill payments because there is no way to do that around here.
The professional stuff:
My foundation in technology began between 2016 and 2019, where I navigated the software development lifecycle from multiple angles. I started by gathering business requirements and tracking issues for enterprise Pega BPM applications, transitioned into a LATAM-wide PMO Data Analyst role managing IT KPIs via Jira, and served as a QA Engineer working across modern web apps and legacy AS/400 systems utilizing Python and VS Code automation.
In 2019, I joined SAP, where I have spent years engineering high-scale data solutions and cloud architectures on SAP BTP and HANA. Notably, I developed and scaled a corporate Skills Management web application, successfully migrating it from on-premise infrastructure to a cloud architecture that scaled from 5,000 to over 35,000 users. During this time, I also engineered complex data pipelines and custom API-driven backend applications to consolidate distributed learning program data from corporate and external sources.
Transitioning to the Workforce Planning organization in late 2024, I supported the corporate globalization of Skills and Jobs management. This involved steering the technical strategy to decommission legacy systems, architecting the governance framework for modern skills governance and technologies, and defining how skills are infused across the company. Today, I build advanced data pipelines on SAP BTP, Databricks, and HANA DB, integrating AI models and CLI harnesses to automate and assist global skills governance.
Overtime Work & Entrepreneurship
I like trying out new stuff, have attempted several entrepreneurships such as website/app building agency, marketing ops technical consultant, e-commerce automation platforms, proptech realtor agency. Most recently I launched a small e-commerce business for eye health and eye beauty in Colombia, which my previous endeavor's lessons learned helped greatly in its success.
I keep and maintain my own homelab servers to save some pretty penny on VPS, Cloud services and low-intelligence AI models. All is virtualized and running on a lot of open source systems (e.g. n8n, baserow, couchdb, ollama) as well some own custom built systems. This has been pretty exciting now with AI being able to control, monitor, diagnose such an operation, it's enabled to be done by a single man now.
From time to time I get spare days to join hackathons and creathons. I'm always up for a good challenge to solve social or technical problems; highlights my duality of tech and economics background.

Hitting the gym, reading books or cutting edge tech/science academic and research articles, learning new cooking recipes and playing some guitar heavy riffs, or disco-dance-funk chords, or face melting shreds, or Andres Cepeda ballads, just about anything!
